Cadel Evans’ sweet tooth and love of the Surf Coast region has inspired the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery in Bellbrae to create a chocolate bar to celebrate the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. (CEGORR).
Featuring Cadel’s love of dark chocolate and some of his favourite ingredients – cherries, coconut and pistachios – the new CEGORR chocolate bar also features distinctive packaging with commissioned artwork by local Anglesea artist, Becca Mitchell, that captures the colours of the great cycling event as it moves past 13th Beach in Barwon Heads.
Cycling enthusiasts of all ages recently joined Cadel at the Chocolaterie to launch the new chocolate bar.
“Our European Chocolatiers were honoured to create something in the prestigious Road Race’s name and we expect it to be a great souvenir and yummy treat for the chocolate loving cycling enthusiast”, said Managing Director of the Chocolaterie, Leanne Neeland.
“I’d like to thank the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery for their support, involvement, passion and vision. What an amazing, inspiring, fun place to enjoy alongside all the beauty this amazing region of ours brings us and our wonderful race”, said Cadel.
The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, first held in 2015, has attracted hundreds of thousands of spectators who have enjoyed the spectacle and unique experience of the race which passes right by the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie on the start of the Great Ocean Road.
