The Great Ocean Road is home to the towering 12 Apostles, iconic surf breaks, pristine rainforest, gourmet food trails and an abundance of native wildlife.

This iconic stretch of coast features plenty of scenic vantage points for fans as the world’s best riders roll eastward from Bellbrae to Torquay and beyond.
Intermediate sprint points are on offer for riders on the road into Torquay.
When the UCI WorldTour men’s and women’s classics hit town, look out for the Surf Coast Sprint along the Torquay Esplanade.
Riders will vie for intermediate sprint points before the peloton wraps onto the Great Ocean Road.
Places to ride
If you’re up for a scenic challenge, start in Torquay and follow the Great Ocean Road down to Lorne – an out and back ride will see you clock around 90km.
For an additional 45km make it a circuit by turning right atLorne Road and follow the C151 up to Moriac, then take the C135 back into Torquay. See Great Ocean Rides for maps and details.

The 12 Apostles – magnificent rock stacks rising from the Southern Ocean – are an itinerary must. The Great Ocean Walk from Apollo Bay to the Apostles will keep your fitness levels up! For nature lovers, immerse yourself in the Otway Ranges, Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve or track
down the stunning waterfalls in the region. Beach-goers relish the famed breaks at Bells Beach and Discovery Bay. And, when it comes to local produce, check out the Otway Harvest Trail and 12 Apostles Food Artisans dotted along
this Gourmet Trail. Dan Hunter’s inimitable Brae featured on the 2017 World’s Best Restaurants list, and Greek Australian a la grecque, the Forrest Brewing Company and Merrijig Kitchen are also hot spots on the coast.
