From the magic of the Otways to a spectacular ocean backdrop, the world’s best cyclists thundered along from Lorne to Torquay in the inaugural Surf Coast Classic of 2024.

The UCI Sanctioned 1.1 Classification event was taken out by Eritrean superstar, Binam Girmay (Intermaché Wanty) outsprinting 2019 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road winner, Elia Viviani (INEOS Grenadiers) and young Kiwi gun, Corbin Strong (Israel-Premier Tech).

The 2024 Course – 158.6km

2024 Course

From the Lorne start, the course features a challenging 10km uphill climb towards Dean Marsh. Following the rolling roads of the Surf Coast Shire and country townships, the fast-paced peloton navigated a few critical corners in the slight downhill run into the coastal Torquay finish line.
