With less than two months out to the start of the 2023 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, Cadel Evans has arrived back in Australia, ready to promote the event, and hopefully, inspire the next generation of Victorian cyclists.

The TAC People’s Ride return in January after the Covid-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the 2021 and 2022 events.

In an interview with the Geelong Advertiser, Cadel said his goal was to inspire the younger generation.

“For me personally, a personal goal with the race is that mums or dads bring their kids to the race, and that maybe their kids grow up inspired by the professionals to be a bike rider, and take up cycling themselves,” he said.

“That’s something I would love to see happen for the TAC People’s Ride.”

A sensational Brad Fleet photograph of Cadel in his 2023 kit at Thirteenth Beach adorned the front cover of the Advertiser on Tuesday, ahead of the close of early bird entries for the TAC People’s Ride at midnight on Wednesday 30 November.
