Visit Victoria today announced the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race will not be staged this summer.

Due to the ongoing global pandemic, a number of UCI WorldTour teams have made the decision to stay in Europe due to uncertainty around international travel conditions and logistics of quarantine requirements.

The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is a UCI WorldTour cycling event held along Australia’s most iconic coastal region.

The full event schedule is impacted, including the UCI WorldTour Elite Men’s Road Race and the UCI WorldTour Deakin University Elite Women’s Road Race, TAC Race Torquay, the Swisse People’s Ride and the VEGEMITE® Family Ride.

The announcement was made after consultation with key stakeholders, including the international UCI WorldTour teams and the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) for the Santos Tour Down Under.

Plans are already underway for a bigger and better 2022 – including a reunion party to celebrate 10 years since Cadel’s Tour de France victory.

Visit Victoria is also working on exciting experiences for riders of all ages and abilities for this summer to encourage people to stay connected, fit and healthy. Stay tuned to @cadelroadrace on the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race’s social channels for more details.
