Race Melbourne Circuit

Twilight crit racing, UCI sanctioned, against a backdrop of Melbourne’s CBD! Get up-close to some of the world’s best riders as they test their skills over 12 laps of Albert Park in the women’s race, and 22 laps in the men’s.

Elite Women’s Race — Thursday 25 January 2018

Distance: 12 laps x 5.3km circuit. Total of 63.6km.
Expected to ride an average 39km/per hour.
Start: 2:30 pm / Finish: 4 pm


Elite Men’s Race — Thursday 25 January 2018

Distance: 22 laps x 5.3km circuit. Total 116.6km.
Expected to ride an average 47km/per hour.
Start: 5 pm / Finish: 7:20 pm

EVENT INFORMATION

HOW THE SPRINT WORKS

Points will be awarded to the three fastest riders during intermediate
sprints in both the men’s and women’s races.

A bell will sound ahead of each intermediate sprint lap.

For the men, the sprints take place on laps five, 10 and 15 with an overall sprint classification winner.

For the women, the sprints take place on laps four and seven with an overall sprint classification winner.
